Money Beliefs

Growing up did you ever hear your parents

fight over money? Maybe your parents told

you things like Money doesn’t grow on

trees’ or ‘Making money is really difficult’

or You have to work hard to earn money’..

Like every other limiting belief out there

limiting beliefs about money are also beliefs

    they are NOT facts.

You are entitled to your beliefs but that

     doesn’t make them facts.

    Just because you’ve been believing

some negative or limiting belief about money

does not make it a fact..

Here’s an example: Do you believe in God?

What does God look like to you?

    What’s the form of God?

Whatever your answer maybe it’s a belief

you have about God.. You haven’t seen

God with your eyes have you?

It’s a word we use in Hindi called ‘Aastha’

    It’s your belief.

Now if God were to miraculously appear in

front of you in the form you believe and in

front of everyone else in that

same form there’ll be no doubts or

    speculation about the

form of God, it’ll be a non-negotiable fact!

    Unless there’s a non-refutable evidence

of your belief being a fact it’s simply a belief.

    Like I mentioned earlier you’re

    entitled to your belief.

Here’s another example. What happens when

you throw something in air? It falls down due

to gravity correct? You can’t refute gravity,

it’s not a belief but a rock solid fact.

Similarly, when someone passes away you may

think they go to heaven or hell or afterlife,

that again is a belief.. No one has come

back and proven what happens after death

so we don’t have evidence, it’s not a fact that

heaven, hell or afterlife exists. It’s still negotiable.

All this to say that your beliefs are yours and

    you’re welcome to any belief.

Your life is made up of the beliefs you hold.

If you believe money doesn’t grow on trees

that’ll be how you treat money.

If you believe money comes to you easily

then that’ll be your experience. Now I

realise it sounds too simple which is why an

    explanation is required here.

    Question your beliefs.. Whatever you’ve

been thinking about money examine if those are

absolute facts of life or simply your beliefs.

Thumb rule to do this is-- if your beliefs can’t

be 100% proven they are not facts.

And unless something is a fact that means

     it can be changed.

Maybe you believe that it’s extremely

difficult to earn money. You have to

    struggle a lot.

Another person may believe that they

do their due diligence and simply attract

money to themselves. Which person’s belief

    you think is helping them?

Oh because didn’t I mention, whatever

belief you hold about money your thoughts

will be influenced by those beliefs. And then

    your behaviour and ultimately your

    actions will be influenced.

This is psychology 101 and a million

    dollar formula which

I never learnt in a school or college.

Make a note of this formula and apply

it in your life for optimum results.

    Your results= Beliefs=

    {Thoughts+Behaviours+Actions}

If you aren’t happy with your results

you have to change your thoughts,

behaviours and actions i.e your beliefs.

Now that you understand this insight

and formula ready to take the

    insight to action challenge?

What limiting beliefs do you have

    about money?

Do a time travel in your mind.

When did you learn about the concept

    of money and through whom?

What did they tell you about money?

What thoughts do you primarily have

about money? Is it freely available to

you? Do you believe you can earn as

    much money as you want?

    Why do you believe these?

    ‘For statements’

Do these beliefs make you feel

    good and positive toward money?

Write a neutral belief for each

    limiting belief.

Write a positive belief for each

    limiting belief.

How will your life change if you

    believed in a neutral/positive belief.

    Repeat writing your neutral/positive

    belief every single day.

Come back after a month and

write down how you feel (did your

    belief improve?)
